Overview Welcome to the Aurukun Land and Sea Management Aurukun Land and Sea is responsible for the management of land and sea resources within Aurukun Shire. The Shire comprises some 25,000 square kilometres of dry tropical savanna on the west coast of Cape York Peninsula; traditional homelands of the Wik and Kugu peoples. These homelands traverse country of high biological and cultural diversity and are at the centre of the Wik and Kugu peoples identity. Land and Sea is actively involved in the conservation and management of traditional knowledge and cultural heritage.
